Privacy Policy.
Effective date: 18 July 2026
1. Data Collection
We collect account and contact information, wallet and payment records, utility purchases, support communications, device and security information, and information you choose to record in Cashbooks. Cashbook data may include transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, payment methods, notes, and customer or supplier details.
2. Informal Business Profiles
You may provide a display name, business category, preferred language, approximate location, business stage, and operating mode to personalize your experience. This profile is self-declared. It is not CAC registration, government verification, tax registration, or proof that a business is legally incorporated.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide and secure accounts, process payments, keep Cashbooks, generate receipts and statements, support users, improve reliability, prevent fraud, and personalize product features. A completed utility purchase is added to a Cashbook only when you choose the Add to Cashbook action and confirm its destination.
4. Private Insights and Automated Analysis
Dash Xpress may calculate private summaries, trends, forecasts, and plain-language Business Pulse messages from Cashbooks marked Include in Insights. General, customer, and supplier books are included by default; personal books are excluded by default. You can change this setting for an individual book. Private Insights are informational and remain part of your product experience.
5. Sharing and Consent
We do not share an identifiable business profile, Business Score, supporting financial summary, or Cashbook data with a lender or other partner without explicit permission or another lawful basis disclosed to you. Contributing data to an external aggregated-insights product requires separate, clearly explained consent. Consent can be withdrawn for future sharing, subject to disclosed legal or contractual retention requirements.
6. Service Providers and Legal Disclosures
We may use service providers for payments, utility fulfillment, hosting, communications, analytics, fraud prevention, and customer support. They may process only the information needed to perform their services under applicable safeguards. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, regulatory request, or to protect users and the service.
7. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain accurate financial and security records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet legal or regulatory obligations. Retention periods may differ by record type. Deactivating an account does not necessarily require immediate deletion of records we must lawfully retain.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so users should also protect their passwords, devices, and transaction PINs.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can review or update account and business-profile information, control which Cashbooks contribute to Insights, and withdraw optional sharing consent. Subject to applicable Nigerian data-protection law, you may also request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or information about how your personal data is used. Some requests may be limited by financial-record, fraud-prevention, or other legal obligations.
10. Notifications
We may send essential service and security notices. Optional Business Pulse, reminder, marketing, SMS, push, or WhatsApp communications will follow your available preferences and applicable consent requirements. Channel availability may vary.
11. Policy Changes
We may update this policy as Dash Xpress changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website, email, or another appropriate channel before they take effect where required.
12. Contact Us
For privacy questions or requests, contact support@dashxpress.ng. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
